Ashland’s Sheriff’s Facility Addition to Community Center
The County of Alameda and the regional recreation district, HARD, teamed up to provide unincorporated Ashland a new community policing station. The facility is an addition to the existing recreation center at Ashland Park, in a small neighborhood wedged between four cities. The design priority was to identically match the existing architecture in order to create both a non-intrusive image and a building that was adaptable to future tenants if the Sheriff changed its policy of community policing. The facility contains secure counter, storage, open-plan workstations and deputy’s office. G/A has completed many similar new and renovated facilities for HARD.
